
David James Hamilton
Founder
Anubis Improv founder David James Hamilton is a New Orleans born and bred improviser and actor currently living in Oxford, MS. He studied the Harold at the Glasgow Improv Theatre, graduated from the improv program at Two Friends Improv, as well as completed both the improv and sketch programs at The New Movement (TNM). From 2014 to 2018, he served as co-conservatory director, tech director, building manager, and improv teacher and coach at TNM, where he also helped build and served as director of their business workshop program. Since forming Anubis in 2018, he has had the pleasure of teaching and developing a four-level long-form improv curriculum, an Improv for Actors curriculum, and numerous business workshops for companies such as Camelback Ventures, The Posse Foundation, and Robinson Lumber. He performs improv with the duo troupe Kinross Kasunick and is a member of the film collective Windbreaker. He also proudly manages his partner's dog's Instagram, @dollytinyhead.
Nick Napolitano
Head of New Orleans Operations, Instructor
Nick Napolitano is an improviser, writer, and actor based in New Orleans. With almost a decade of comedy experience at his command, he has taught dozens of improv and sketch classes, coached hundreds of hours of improv troupes, and produced over 250 shows as the Artistic Director of a local improv theater. He was also an instrumental member of the Hell Yes Comedy Festival team, which at its peak produced a 12 day experience with over 300 comedians. He is a member of Windbreaker, a local film collective creating short films in New Orleans. He lives in New Orleans with his two best friends, Janet and Mango.
Maggie White
Head of Youth Programs, Instructor
Maggie White is an improviser, writer, and academic from Oxford, MS. She has been performing and coaching improv since 2016. Maggie graduated from the improv and sketch comedy programs at The New Movement in New Orleans and from the improv program at the Glasgow Improv Theatre in Scotland. She currently lives in Oxford with her partner and dog.
Emily Slazer
Instructor
Emily Slazer is a writer, performer, and teacher from south Louisiana. She’s been studying and performing improv for more than twelve years and has traveled to comedy centers around the country to take workshops and perform in festivals. Among other projects, she writes and produces a quarterly variety show, What Now?, with her creative partner Julia Delois.
